ABOUT
I am an optics design engineer at Carl Zeiss Meditec. Before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, I was a postdoctoral researcher at Washington University in Saint Louis, where I completed my PhD. The focus of my research was in designing and constructing two-photon microscopes. For my bachelor's, I studied physics and mechanical engineering at the University of Pittsburgh.
I love doing projects, whether it be at work or in my spare time. Often they fall at the intersection of art and engineering. The purpose of this site is to document some of my work in engineering, art, and photography, and to share it with anyone who may be interested. Thanks for checking it out! —Jon Bumstead |
